According to Syntarus CTO Richard F. Burrell, "We consider it a privilege that RadioASB has been invited by the Adams Avenue Business Association to be a part of this long standing, time honored San Diego music festival tradition." He continues, "The Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival has been an annual event for 32 years and is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the rich "Roots & Folk" music styles and traditions. The festival provides a prominent venue for the performance of this musical heritage by local and nationally touring music artists, and offers a rare opportunity for the public to hear this priceless cultural legacy performed live on stage."

Mr. Carl Sabatino, on-air RadioASB personality and host of the "Carl Sabatino and the Morning Show" program broadcast from the RadioASB New York City studio each weekday morning from Monday through Friday will travel to San Diego in order to spearhead radio coverage of the festivities. Mr. Sabatino, a long time FM radio host in New York City relates, "RadioASB is about the music, and the Roots and Folk Festival is a very specific type of music that is rarely heard on radio nowadays." He continues, "Our coverage of the event will provide an excellent opportunity to document this wonderful cultural legacy that has influenced in so many ways much of the contemporary music that we hear today."

Mr. Jim Schneider, Executive Director of the Adams Avenue Business Association says, "We are delighted that RadioASB has accepted our invitation to participate in the Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival this year. Their dedication to the music of the American Songbook and their high quality radio programming and broadcasting is both impressive and refreshing." Ms. Judy Moore, Associate Director of the Adams Avenue Business Association adds, "We feel very strongly that RadioASB's participation, coverage and contribution will ensure this year's event to be exceptional."

This year marks the 33rd year of the Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival, and it is anticipated that the event will attract a record audience attendance. There will be over 150 exotic food vendors as well as arts & crafts vendors, a beer garden, music workshops and family activities. The agenda and activities that have been organized for this year's festivities by Mr. Schneider and Ms. Moore of the Adams Avenue Business Association will ensure that a memorable time is to be had by all.

The Roots & Folk festival features five music stages strategically located along the ample Adams Avenue thoroughfare with scheduled live performances by more than thirty renowned local and national artists showcasing music that is representative of the vast Roots and Folk genres including traditional Folk, Country, the Blues, Appalachian, Cajun, Bluegrass and Conjunto.
In relation to the music and artists, Mr. Burrell comments, "The artists scheduled to perform have been booked through the extraordinary efforts and assistance of Mr. Lou Curtiss, and I must admit that I am extremely impressed with the manner in which he has coordinated the talent." He continues, "His expertise, diligence, thoroughness and professionalism are uniquely singular, and the roster of artists has everyone looking forward to the two day event with utmost enthusiasm."

Mr. Lou Curtiss, original founder of the Roots & Folk Festival back in 1967, has been intimately involved with each and every one of the preceding 32 festivals. He is a nationally recognized record producer, music researcher and archivist for both the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institution. Mr. Curtiss is also a multi-instrumentalist and proprietor of Folk Arts Rare Records, located at 2881 Adams Avenue in San Diego.

RadioASB will cover the two day event from a booth prominently located near the artist headliner music stage, which will be shared with the eminent San Diego music publication "San Diego Troubadour". The Troubadour publishers, Liz Abbott and Kent Johnson, will be graciously lending their support to RadioASB during the two day coverage of the event.

In relation to the collaborative efforts of RadioASB and the San Diego Troubadour, Mr. Burrell remarks, "We have found Ms. Abbott, Mr. Johnson and the entire staff of the San Diego Troubadour most supportive of RadioASB in preparing for our coverage of the Roots & Folk festival." He adds, "It is readily apparent that, although engaged in different communications media, RadioASB and the Troubadour share a like-minded conviction regarding the significance of this music as a cultural art form. Their contributions are significant, and most sincerely appreciated."
