New York City engages Syntarus for Staten Island Ferry Wireless Network

San Diego, CA - June 20, 2005 - Syntarus Corporation, a global telecommunications and information management technology firm based in San Diego, CA today formally announced that it has been engaged by the City of New York and the New York City Department of Transportation to implement a secure internal wireless network that will provide data, voice and video applications for the Staten Island Ferry and Terminal system, the Staten Island Harbor and immediate vicinity.

According to Mr. Carl J. Sabatino, Syntarus CEO, "The Syntarus wireless network shall provide extremely secure wireless capability as well as broadcast and streaming video and audio media options." He adds, "The scope of the proposed wireless system is quite impressive in that it includes the Staten Island Ferry system and Ferry fleet, more than forty retail operations situated within the Staten Island St. George and Manhattan Whitehall Ferry Terminals as well as over 35,000 daily commuters and a substantially larger number of surrounding residential and business users."

In reference to project scope, Mr. Richard F. Burrell, Syntarus CTO relates, "The Syntarus "Inner Circle" wireless network shall support all public and commuter requirements for ISP and subscription access services and will be capable of sustaining satellite connectivity, commercial broadcast cell, PCS and ESMR within a defined geographical triangular area that includes the Staten Island St. George and Manhattan Whitehall Street areas." He continues, "Additionally, an "Outer Circle" quadrangular coverage area would incorporate the "Inner Circle" and include the broader New York Upper Harbor and New Jersey side as well as the proposed Brooklyn Ferry terminus at 65th Street in Bay Ridge. The inclusion of the proposed Brooklyn site provides a safety feature capable of maintaining uninterrupted communications in the event that any one of the three geographical points within the triangle are unable to broadcast as the result of a disaster scenario. This would include a redundant satellite back-up to compliment the Syntarus wireless communications network."

Syntarus Corporation shall be assisted by and collaborate closely with their premier business partner, ET Industries, throughout the Staten Island Ferry Project.

Dr. John Howard, President of ET Industries, states, "Due to the nature of the Staten Island Ferry Project, which requires implementation near and within a body of salt water, all of the equipment we utilize must be qualified environmentally." He explains, "The system design must take into consideration extreme weather, temperature and humidity variations as well as address corrosion factors due to continuous exposure to salt water conditions. We are very confident that all of our equipment design specifications exceed the exacting requirements that a project of this nature demands."

Mr. Carl J. Sabatino, Syntarus CEO, concludes, "We have devoted considerable time and meticulous effort to the design aspects of this project and anticipate a four month production time frame from start to system completion. This breaks down to approximately 90 days for the manufacture and assembly and approximately 30 days for system implementation and thorough system testing."
